1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Career Academy student portal, submitting an application, or using any services provided by Career Academy, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use our services.

2. Services Provided

Career Academy provides a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program, including:

  • CNA classroom and clinical training (120 total hours)
  • Online student portal for managing enrollment, payments, documents, and academic progress
  • Electronic document signing for enrollment agreements
  • Online payment processing for tuition

3. Account Registration

When you submit an application, you create an account with an email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Tuition and Payment

Tuition for the CNA program is $1,350. Payment terms include:

  • Default payment plan: 3 installments of $450, due on weeks 1, 2, and 3 of your cohort
  • No payment is required before the first day of class
  • Online payments include a 3% convenience fee
  • In-person payments (cash, check, card) do not include a convenience fee
  • Final certificates, transcripts, and state test registration are withheld until payment is completed

Career Academy does not participate in FAFSA, Pell Grants, or federal student loan programs. This program is not eligible for these forms of financial assistance.

5. Refund Policy

For self-pay students:

  • On or before first day of class: Full refund minus $100 administrative fee
  • Prior to 10% completion: 75% refund of prorated tuition minus $100 administrative fee
  • Between 10%-24% completion: 25% refund of prorated tuition minus $100 administrative fee
  • At or beyond 25% completion: No refund

For sponsored students, Career Academy adheres to the refund policy prescribed by the sponsoring organization.

6. SMS/Text Message Program

Career Academy offers an optional SMS notification program. By opting in during the application process, you consent to receive text messages regarding your enrollment. Details of the SMS program:

  • Message types: Enrollment updates, schedule information, attendance alerts, payment reminders, and program announcements
  • Message frequency: Varies; approximately 2-10 messages per month during active enrollment
  • Message and data rates may apply
  • Opt-out: Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe
  • Help: Reply HELP for assistance

Opting in to SMS is not a condition of enrollment. You may complete your program without participating in the SMS program.

7. Electronic Signatures

Career Academy uses electronic signatures for enrollment documents in compliance with the federal ESIGN Act and Tennessee's Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA). By using the electronic signature feature in the student portal, you consent to the use of electronic records and signatures for enrollment documents.

8. Attendance Policy

Attendance is mandatory and tracked electronically. The following thresholds apply:

  • 3 consecutive days absent: Outreach initiated
  • 10% of program hours missed: Corrective action initiated
  • 15% missed: Ineligible for state certification test
  • 25% missed: Removal from program

9. Grading and Completion

A minimum grade of 85% is required to qualify for the state certification test. Students scoring 75-84% receive a Certificate of Completion but do not qualify for the state test. Students scoring below 75% receive a Certificate of Participation.

10. Limitation of Liability

Career Academy is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the student portal or participation in the program, except as required by law.

11. THEC Grievance Process

Students who have concerns about Career Academy that are not resolved through the institution's internal grievance process may file a complaint with the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC).

12. Changes to Terms

Career Academy reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
