Can I get CNA training for free?
Yes. Several programs can cover 100% of your tuition at Career Academy. If you qualify for WIOA funding through the American Job Center or SNAP Employment & Training through Tennessee DHS, your training may be completely free. Military service members and spouses also have funding options that fully cover our tuition. See the funding programs below to find one that fits your situation.
One thing to know about “free” CNA programs
Some employers — often nursing homes — will pay for your training, but those programs typically ask you to sign a work agreement to stay with that one employer for a set period (commonly 6–12 months). The funded paths above (WIOA, SNAP E&T, and military benefits) work differently: they can cover the full $1,350 for eligible students, and there’s no obligation to work for any specific employer. You earn your certification and you choose where you work. Both are honest options — this is just the tradeoff worth understanding before you decide.
